it's snowing. again. it's not supposed to snow in dc. it's not supposed to be this cold in dc. my consolation as i sat shivering in nj at the end of break was that dc should be warmer. that the temperature should at least get above freezing. because it's not snow i hate. snow can be very pretty. it's the bloody cold.
::sigh::
at least it should get up into the 40s next week. as opposed to the current 20, feels like 11 because of the windchill.

in other news, braved the cold with ardis and sarah last night to venture up to dupont in an attempt to see hotel rwanda. which failed for it was sold out. so we saw la mala educacion instead, which was quite good. and went to cosi beforehand for the mugs (i.e. buckets) of hot chocolate. very shiny and yummy. also good to hang out with them for i have not seen them in a while. and i have been a hiding in my room person all week as my intended nightly activities failed to materialize.

and that's all my updating, so i'll end with a me-me, for verily, i am a sheep:

despite my complaints, there is something very peaceful about walking in the snow in dc. it's saturday so the streets are pretty empty anyway and the snow has kept even more people in. hardly anything's plowed or salted so it's a bit treacherous but i like the emptiness. wind died down so i could put my head up and watch the flakes. i like how they drift all slow and quiet. everything seems muted, just the sounds of the handful of pedestrians braving the cold and a couple of guys shovelling the walk in front of the library. nothing new or original in observations but still calming. i'm rather looking forward to walking over to the theatre tonight, despite the distance (about 16 blocks but it takes just as long on the metro cause of changing). i like walking alone in dc. gives me time to ponder.
