so i set my dressing gown on fire this morning. i was innocently trying to boil some water and the sleeve of my robe caught on the flames from the stove. which jumped to the side of the robe before i beat it out, leaving a surprisingly undamaged dressing gown. except for a small slightly browned patch and the smell of singed fabric.

this experience was rather alarming.

i have concluded that i shouldn't cook in clothes with big baggy sleeves anymore.

Eeek! You're the second person I know to have an alarming fire related accident this week. Good to know you're unscathed though.

I hope there isn't something going around :(

Good heavens, dearling. Please don't do yourself injury. I'm glad you weren't hurt.

i do prefer gas stoves, just not when the flames go leaping around the pot to attack me.
