update-ness
Sep. 20th, 2004 03:56 pmlife has been okay. a number of good things.
found a LARP that meets on campus so i can go despite it being thursday nights and inconvenient because of rehearsal. am glad to be gaming again. and my character is utterly evil, which pleases me.
friday i worked a lot. then i worked some more. but i was getting paid and getting homework done simultaneously so all was good. i work at the help desk in our student center type place so my job is to answer all the weird questions people come and ask. and there's lots of downtime to do my homework. and spod. la!
saturday was pagan pride day. this was muchly strange, a gathering of odd types impromtuly moved to the basement of a church because weather made the original outdoor plan not so much a good idea. after recovering from my initial fear of new people, helped by yhe arrival of my friend kevin (for then i knew somebody at least!) i had much fun wandering about and chatting about weird shit and random unrelated topics. found a group that seems cool so i think i shall try going to their meetings. evening did precious little.
sunday slacked off and went to the national mall with my roommate. the national mall is not, in fact, a shopping center but rather a sort of huge park full of monuments and museums. the plan was to do homework there but that didn't so much happen. instead chatted with crystal and got a sunburn. some work was accomplished later and a story has been partially written.
interspersed with actual activities were long phone conversations with
grey_damaskena,
urizen and
greensilkchai, all of whom i muchly thank for putting up with my wibbling. also called home. did not wibble to them but it was good to talk to my parents and sister. it's been a bit of a missing people sort of weekend.
